I didn’t start out as a writer. I fell out of the womb an artist and built my career around painting large outdoor murals, eventually adding three-dimensional projects and electronic spectaculars. Below is a sampling of my art in small to large versions. You can find more at www.ArtProductionsInc.com

My husband and I (husband) painted a historic Coca-Cola design with a new twist for Mellow Mushroom in Tuscaloosa, Alabama last fall (right after I had returned home from a writing conference). Look for us just above the trees in the bottom left corner.

When technology advanced, I moved into creating spectacular marketing projects that light up the sky across the country from Boston to Dallas. I was fortunate to be contracted by the top sponsors to design and fabricate unusual designs for Olympic venues in the 1996 Atlanta and 2002 Salt Lake City games.

I painted murals for the Corporate offices of Coca-Cola in downtown Atlanta for many years. Below is one of the paintings after being framed and hung on site:

Sometimes I painted a little smaller than a wall mural such as portraits of all my nieces and
nephews and here [below] is a painting of my sweet little dog we had for many years.

Dangling high above ground must have gone to my head, because I began imagining stories while I worked and decided to put my thoughts onto paper. Now, my books feature larger-than-life characters based on everyday people who conquer insurmountable odds to save themselves and the people they love.

I grew up fishing and married a man who also loves to fish. We’re out in the Gulf of Mexico here.

My husband – Karl – joins me at conferences from time to time, because we’re both very supportive of each other’s endeavors. I’m often asked about how we met…that’s a story for next time. But here’s a photo of him the year we met and went to Light up Atlanta. And here’s picture from the same year of me in Biloxi to see my brother get married. (yes, I had brunette hair and liked being brunette but the sun turned my hair blonde the minute it grew out so I was always coloring it to try to keep the brunette look and finally gave up).

I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area with my motorcycle-instructor husband, Karl, and a tank of unruly saltwater fish named after television characters. When not writing action-packed suspense stories, Karl and I ride our motorcycles in search of new locations to use as settings in future books.

This is Karl with his Triumph Sprint and Dianna on a BMW 1150RT – two very fun bikes and one incredible husband who won GMSP Instructor of the Year!

I’m blessed with my very own hero who supports everything I do. Karl patiently answers outrageous questions (“If you were a crazed killer who fell overboard with a gun in your hand, would it…”) until I can research specifics. On practically every trip in the car, he listens to me read a new story out loud for feedback. He calls it “a book tape you can argue with.” When anyone asks what he thinks of his wife writing romance, he says he loves helping with extensive “research.”

Receiving this engraved plaque for winning the prestigious Overall Daphne du Maurier was incredible.
